Section 64
Local level promoting children's rights
(1) If someone violates the rights of children according to paragraph-2 or does not fulfill the obligations towards children according to paragraph-3, the concerned children or interested parties can apply to the judicial committee of the local level where the children live.
(2) If an application is received according to sub-section (1), the judicial committee shall take the relevant person within twenty-four hours, excluding the travel time, and conduct the necessary investigation.
(3) If it is found that the concerned person has violated the rights of the children or fulfilled the obligations towards the children during the investigation according to sub-section (2), within thirty days of the application to the judicial committee, the relevant person, organization or body at the local level will be ordered to enforce the rights of the children or fulfill the obligations towards the children.
(4) In the course of investigation according to sub-section (2), if the issue of enforcement of children's rights or fulfillment of obligations towards children does not fall within its jurisdiction, the judicial committee shall send a written notice to other local level judicial committees for enforcement of children's rights or fulfillment of obligations towards children.
(5) If written in accordance with sub-section (4), the relevant local level judicial committee shall also make provisions for the implementation of children's rights or the fulfillment of obligations towards children in accordance with sub-section (3).
(6) According to this section, the judicial committee may give necessary suggestions or alert the guardian or family member to the child, the guardian or the family member when the children's rights are enforced or the obligations towards the children are fulfilled.
